The Great River Route

It runs north of the provincial border, along the right bank of the Great River. It is a fascinating route that can also be travelled by bicycle or boat. Departing by motorboat from the Darsena di San Paolo, in the heart of the city of Este, it is possible to navigate along the Po Grande where the natural environment is still almost intact and at times unexplored; a relaxing and evocative route as far as Ro Ferrarese, where we will disembark and forge our bicycles for a ride through the flat Ferrara countryside, suitable even for the “laziest” cyclists.

Rocca si Stellata Bondeno

Here we will cross the Lands of Bacchelli's Po Mill, where we can enjoy Villa Beicamina, mentioned in the novel, and Villa Saracco-Riminaldi, one of the largest noble residences in Ferrara. We will reach the gates of Copparo. A well-deserved stop at one of our farms for a tasting/lunch in the yard featuring typical local products: garlic salami with our typical bread, the "coppia", fruit, a good glass of DOC wine from Bosco Eliceo, and much more, letting the imagination of our members surprise you!

You can choice the dinner and the overnight: 3 and 4-star hotels, farmhouses, inns, with different price ranges suitable for every need and possibility. The 270 km stretch along the Great River Route extends from the west, starting from the Fortress of Stellata, to the easternmost tip of the province that plunges into the Adriatic Sea. They are easily traversable through still untouched landscapes or pleasant inhabited centers that can be reference points for stops during excursions in our lands.
