Consortium for the Protection of Bosco Eliceo DOC Wines

The Consortium for the Protection of Bosco Eliceo DOC Wines was established in 1991 by qualified wine operators, the Chamber of Commerce of Ferrara, the Provincial Administration of Ferrara and the Municipality of Comacchio.
The purpose of the Consortium is to defend, protect and enhance the ‘Bosco Eliceo’ appellation. Recognition of the D.O.C. (Denominazione di Origine Cotrollata) of Bosco Eliceo wines took place in 1989 with the publication of the Production Regulations for the four wines: Sauvignon, Bianco del Bosco, Fortana and Merlot.
The regulations state that grapes destined for the production of Bosco Eliceo wines must be produced exclusively within the area from the mouth of the Po in the Province of Ferrara, along the SS Romea, SS 16 Adriatica and along the coast to Tagliata di Cervia in the Province of Ravenna.
